Green Asian Power — The Ambition of T Park to shape Hong Kong’s “waste-to-energy” Circular Economy

Plant Technology Alliance volunteers visited T Park in Hong Kong on July 15.

This is an eye-opening earning trip for everybody to understand the advanced sewage treating system in Hong Kong from sludge reception to incineration and power generation and to the final step of clean emission.

At the T Park, visitors learn what circular economy means for our life and the earth.

“T” represents “transformation.” T Park signifies the continuous drive to shape Hong Kong’s “waste-to-energy” ambitions for the good of the community. It also reflects a vision to encourage positive change in people’s attitudes and behaviours towards waste management and resource recovery and recycling.

T · PARK is more than just a plant, but a place to learn and engage in Hong Kong’s green force through its recreational and educational facilities.

At the T Cafe at the 1/F of the Environmental Education Centre of T Park, the designers adopts the theme of “upcycling” in the overall setting. It includes recovery of over a hundred pieces of fender wood from the former Wan Chai ferry pier. The hundred-year old, replaced fender wood were then converted into different styles of unique furniture, including tables and chairs, at T Cafe. All these perfectly give another thoughtful yet meaningful attribute to T Park.
